Chemistry Technician

**The Role / Key Responsibilities**

Would suit an experienced Chemistry Technician familiar in handling hazardous waste to support our team of Industrial Chemists. The role will involve;
- Manual handling / hands on technical treatment of waste materials
- Hazardous substance and dangerous goods handling and management
- Conduct routine simple analyses, equipment verification's/calibrations
- Internal research and development
- Method development, mathematical calculations, and computations of measurements
- Review of procedural documentation to maintain controls and standards
- Conduct sampling on and offsite for external analytical services
- Field work (generally in the Perth metro area), collection and manifesting duties as required
- Experienced in hazardous waste management - eg. neutralisation, immobilsation, fixation, hydrolysis, sampling unknown material.
- Good communicative and interpersonal skills
- Have a proactive approach, work autonomously and as part of a team
- Understand writing and reviewing technical documents, i.e. Safety Data Sheets, Safe Work Method Statements
- Methodical and effective record keeping skills
- Clear understanding of DWER Landfill Waste Classification and Waste Definitions
- Current valid Drivers Licence
- Current Forklift Ticket

**Salary**: $70,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- On call
