**The Role**
The Operations Analyst is required to support the Mining division and Group Accounting team to deliver business performance objectives. The primary functions of the role will be the accurate posting of accounting transactions within the guidelines of our approved business processes and systems. It is the Operation Analysts responsibility to ensure the accounts are monitored, accurate and traceable. The role will provide financial, analytical, and reporting data to the Manager - Engineering & Digital Automation, Mining Divisional Managers and Operations Managers to explain project performance and identify areas of financial improvement.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
- Recommend financial actions by analysing account transactions and project key performance indicators.
- Preparation of divisional reports on a monthly and annual basis.
- Fixed asset management and maintenance of the mining division asset depreciation schedule.
- Timely completion of monthly financial account reviews and reconciliations.
- Preparation of financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Inventory management, journals and stock reconciliation.
- Analysis and commentary on KPI’s and project costs to support the operations teams’ decision-making process.
- Provide daily financial status information by preparing special analytical reports.
- Support mining business with purchasing activities and reconciliation of accounts.

**The successful applicant will possess**:

- Experience in a project or production based environment
- Tertiary qualification in Business or Commerce with an Accounting major
- Advanced accounting software skills and knowledge
- Advanced computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Excel etc
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an Accountants role
- Current Drivers Licence
- Proof of Australian working entitlements (e.g., Birth Certificate, Passport or Citizenship)
