We are now seeking an experienced Quality and Safeguarding Officer, passionate about providing the best supports possible to people with disability.
**About You**
As a Quality and Safeguarding Officer you will have a “capability first” view underpinning your belief in the valued roles people with disability can and should have in community. You will be able to effectively engage and communicate with people from all walks of life and collate their perspectives to make recommendations on continuous improvement to the organisation’s management.
**About the role**
Part Time - 5 days per fortnight + extra hours near accreditation
You will play a lead role in helping our organisation implement a contemporary approach to supporting people with disability to thrive in their community. By conducting audits you will help us identify opportunities for continuous improvement whilst maintaining compliance with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework.
**Duties will include**:
- Review and align organisational documentation and processes with industry best practice, legislative requirements and NDIS practice standards under the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework
- Undertake internal quality audits to ensure quality practices are maintained and improved
- Create relevant Quality and Safeguards information and resources for people with disability, staff and management
- Develop effective consultation processes with people with disability, gain and analyse feedback
- Assist in data collection and review for continual improvement purposes
- Creating and delivering training to team leaders and direct support staff
**You must have**:
- Understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and NDIS funding model and processes
- Demonstrated experience in auditing service delivery, quality management, governance, risk and safeguarding, in the community services sector
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
- Demonstrated high level of initiative and organisational skills
- Ability to identify improvements, multi-task and meet deadlines
- An understanding of the issues affecting people with disability and the delivery of person-centred disability support services
- Experience in facilitating workshops
- Current working with Children check
- Current "C" class drivers licence
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
**Desirable**:
- Tertiary qualification in Allied Health Services / Health Sciences
- Experience of auditing processes
- Experience in process mapping
