**About the role**

Based in wither Werribee or Melton, the Advanced Case Managers will manage a case load of offenders on court orders. This involves conducting risk assessments, preparing case plans, providing interventions, proactively challenging offending behaviours, addressing the underlying factors in offending whilst directing and monitoring compliance with court order obligations. This role must also support offenders to successfully complete their court orders, while balancing risks to community safety.

This role will necessitate that Advanced Case Managers demonstrate exceptional offender engagement and case management skills, including sound interviewing skills and establishment of goals and objectives within the supervision process. In addition, it is expected that Advanced Case Managers possess strong written skills demonstrated through the ability to prepare high quality reports for internal and external correspondence, in particular for the judiciary. This role will also contribute to a strengthened and integrated through-care approach for offenders transitioning from prison onto court orders, through close partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

Advanced Case Managers are also responsible for enhancing the court practice stream's capacity to provide a high standard of practice, fostering good working relationships and providing guidance, mentoring and support to team members.

**Please note there are multiple ongoing and fixed term positions available at Werribee and one fixed term position until September 2024 based in Melton.**

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- experience or understanding of effective case management practices; proactively managing risk with more complex individuals
- experience or understanding of modelling pro-social behaviours with an ability to motivate and influence individuals
- experience working in a legislative framework
- assertiveness and confidence in dealing with individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours
- capability to produce detailed reports and other standard documents in line with procedural guidelines.

A relevant qualification in social work, human services, criminal justice or criminology and/or experience in a related field is also desirable.
