RMIT is looking for a literacy education lecturer, passionate about supporting the development of language, literacy and literature in the primary years.

The literacy lecturer is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the school, in disciplines related to literacy. The successful applicant is also expected to supervise research projects and theses at the postgraduate level in areas related to their areas of expertise, contribute to School, College and University strategic plan targets in research and/or consultancy, and maintain and develop their professional standing within the profession or discipline.

The appointee is also expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team and undertake administrative tasks as appropriate.

The successful applicant must have a completed PhD in a relevant discipline and a recognised teaching qualification together with recent experience appropriate to the field of literacy education.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have as a minimum:
Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver face to face/ intensive/ fully online Teacher Education Programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials.-
- Ability to undertake course coordination role.-
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.-
- Demonstrated ability to teach Teacher Education Programs effectively in primary/middle school settings and contribute to the professional learning of practicing teachers.-
- Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs which will contribute to School research areas evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and industry links.Ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.- Qualifications
- Mandatory: PhD or equivalent in relevant field.
