**The Role**

Due to on-going expansion of the business, our client is looking for an experienced **Purchasing Officer/ Specialist **to** **work closely with procurement and supply chain to help deliver a top notch service to key customers in the major retail grocery channel. (Coles, Woolies and Metcash).

**Key Responsibilities & Tasks**
- Develop portfolio suppliers' relationships
- Manage end to end ordering
- Manage all aspects of stock replenishment (DIFOT) from suppliers
- Regularly monitor, measures, and report on stock levels and stock related issues
- Liaise with Customer Service, Planner and Warehouse departments at the HQ, 3PL level regarding stock related matters
- Liaising with Customer service and Demand planning to ensure stock is available when required
- Assist in roll out of NPD and product quality or specification updates
- Manage stock levels and manage re-order points within lead times to support our sales team and major customers
- Create Purchase Orders & ETA Management with Freight forwarders, documentation handling with Custom brokers, shipments, and quarantine clearance
- Conduct sourcing, selecting, and negotiating for the best product in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries, and services where suppliers are not flexible on prices or availability
- Facilitate the shipment of goods both internationally and locally: liaising with freight personnel to ensure timely deliveries

**Experience Requirements**
- Proven work experience as a Purchasing Offer or similar role
- FMCG experience preferred
- Hands on experience with purchasing in an ERP system
- A solid understanding of supply chains and supplier management
- Experience and knowledge of importing goods
- Solid understanding of importing purchasing processes and documentation with current knowledge of external factors that could impact availability of goods and pricing
- Solid analytical skills with ability to conduct cost analysis and create financial inventory reports
