The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) is one of the world’s leading performing arts academies, delivering the most comprehensive range of performing arts training in Australia. Our students can develop their skills on-stage as an actor, dancer or musician, or behind the scenes in production, design or arts and cultural management.

Initially, this role will be aligned to the Arts and Cultural Management discipline and the courses taught within and will work closely with the Course Coordinator. As WIL opportunities develop at WAAPA, it is envisioned the position will evolve to have academic responsibility for the whole of school WIL program.

A strategic focus for the School is the employability of its graduating students. The WIL Coordinator within WAAPA will be responsible for the coordination of WIL study units; establishing and managing relationships with industry partners; and, allocating students to work placements in their respective disciplines. The position reports to the Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning), who in turn works closely with the Associate Deans of Discipline, and will suit an individual who can confidently meet the following selection criteria.

**RELEVANT EXPERIENCE**:
Has worked in the discipline area of creative arts, including performing arts production and presentation and/or arts organisation management.

Experience working in the higher education sector or closely related industry, preferably designing, coordinating and delivering undergraduate academic coursework as part their duties.

Has, or is capable of, establishing and maintaining networks in relevant industries.

**SELECTION CRITERIA**:
A Masters or PhD in an appropriate discipline.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate, develop and teach units at undergraduate level.

Demonstrated high-level organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise numerous tasks with mínimal supervision.

Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop good relationships and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Commitment to and demonstrated achievement of excellence in teaching.

Demonstrated experience at using online technologies in the delivery of academic programs.

**Demonstrated experience of**:
Working with others and in teams, establishing networks within discipline; and/or

Gaining an understanding of learning and teaching, research and university governance; and/or

Sound management of staff;

Benefits & Remuneration
This part time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $78,201 to $104,829 pa (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
