**This opportunity is a 6-12 month FTC with the option to extend**

You role will be responsible for testing and verification of a wide range of security controls across both internal systems and those managed by third parties.

In addition you will support the team in building our cybersecurity situational awareness.

You will have a passion or IT security and have intuition as well as keen instincts to pre-empt security threats and attacks.

The role offers you the opportunity to work on some very exciting cyber security developments.

**Reporting to the Manager, Information Security, you will**:

- Maintain vulnerability management and penetration testing processes
- Support 1st level security incident response processes including monitoring and analysing security logs and events from a multitude of sources
- Keep up with trends in cyber security, threat intelligence and ensure appropriate controls are in place to protect the Bank from cyber security threats
- Be responsible for testing verifying security controls across both internal systems and systems managed by third parties.
- This will also involve engaging internal and external third parties to test and verify security controls of systems they manage where required
- Provide input into regular security reporting including security control status and trends in adversary behaviors
- Be involved in the deployment, management and continuous improvement of the Bank’s information security capability
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in maintaining the Bank’s information security capability

**Essential Required Skills**:

- Understand current cyber security threat trends and how to protect and defend these threats
- Knowledge and experience with core infrastructure technologies, such as (but not limited to) Active Directory, workstation and server platforms, networking and cloud services
- Knowledge and understanding of authentication and authorisation technology
- Exposure and understand of industry cyber security standards such as NIST, ISO 27001/2, ASD essential 8, PCI DSS, APRA CPS234
- Knowledge of attack vectors, threat tactics and attacker techniques

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

- One or more relevant cyber security certifications
- Diploma or degree in Computer Science or related field
- ** At least 2 years’ hands on experience in a Security Analyst role or similar**:

- Exposure and understanding of cyber security standards NIST Cyber Security Framework, ISO27001, PCI DSS, ASD Essential 8
- Familiarity with the banking industry would be an added advantage
- An understanding of security technologies used to detect, contain or prevent security incidents such as IDS/IPS, Endpoint Security, Firewalls, Content Inspection and SIEM
- Problem solving and analytics skills, with a high attention to detail
- Strong communications skills - both verbal and written, able to share knowledge and educate others
