**About the Job**

Reporting to the Human Resources and Safety Systems Manager, this part time permanent position (3 days per week) with a long-established company in the Laverton North area for a strong Safety team. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can work unsupervised, is self-motivated and is striving to take on a new challenge.

**About You**
- Partner and coach managers and employees in understanding and achieving their responsibilities to workplace health and safety.
- Provide guidance and advice that encourages stakeholders to create a continuous improvement culture and implement best practice management systems.
- Supporting managers in monitoring, analysing and investigating reported injuries, incidents, and near misses, assist with hazard identification and risk assessments.
- Working collaboratively with Work Cover and the employees on workplace rehabilitation.
- Conducting incident investigations.
- Monitoring compliance and implementation of corrective actions.
- Conducting regular audits and reviews of the Safety Management System.
- Developing policies, procedures, and programs to support health and safety across the business units.
- Ensuring ISO accreditations and frameworks: ISO 9001:2015, standards are updated.
- Ad-Hoc duties as required.

**Must Have’s**
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in manufacturing and/or heavy industry.
- Experience with audits/investigations and implementation of WHS systems.
- Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, an understanding of contemporary safety principles and practices.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and written skills.
- Open minded and flexible for any task at hand with the ability to take initiative.
