This is an exciting career development opportunity to join Babcock’s Mission and Support Systems portfolio You will become an integral member of our high-performing Defence team within a key maritime program, where we bring together engineering, design, systems integration and platform management capabilities to sustain the Collins Class submarines.
This role is a great steppingstone and learning opportunity for someone who is looking to drive their professional development journey and embark on a Project Management career down the track.
The scheduler will be responsible for developing and maintaining schedules for program activities, tasks and events. Your day-to-day responsibilities could include:
- Work closely with the Program performance team in developing, implementing and maintaining program structures (WBS/OBS/RBS/CBS).
- Develop, baseline and maintain the integrated master schedule for the program.
- Provide regular status updates and the provision of metrics (e.g. critical path/total float) and schedule analysis of the impact to the program.
- Analyse, test and validate the integrated master schedule against program objectives, deliverables, milestones and tasks.
- Understand and report using Earned Value Analysis techniques and interpret/communicate the results and any corrective action to the program performance team lead.
**About you**
You will have a methodical mindset and bring a structured, organised approach to the role. You thrive in a complex environment and have a drive to implement process improvements across the program. You will have exceptional interpersonal skills and build strong working relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally, which will allow you to draw out information required to perform your role. Additionally, you will also possess:
- Australian Citizenship with a Baseline security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
- Previous experience in a similar environment.
- Awareness and knowledge of project management processes.
- Knowledge of scheduling toolsets e.g. MS Project, Primavera.
- Demonstrated experience in project planning and scheduling within Defence or other high-risk industries.
- Have worked on multiple projects of varying type and project cycle phase.
- Advanced knowledge of excel.
