The Banks, Government and Education (BGOVE) Client Coverage team, within CBA’s Institutional Banking & Markets business, proactively develops client relationships and originates new business opportunities across both traditional and non-traditional banking services that are tailored to the needs of our Federal Government and ACT Government clients.

**Your Impact and Contribution**

As an Associate you will be working in a high performing team, primarily supporting the Canberra based Director who is responsible for Federal Government and ACT Government Departments and Agencies. You will be involved in all aspects of our clients’ portfolio including, but not limited to, relationship management, portfolio maintenance, contributing to government tender responses and supporting to develop pitch materials.

**Do work that matters**:
You will be part of a team that plays a key role in providing client, transaction and operational support to Senior Bankers across the customer lifecycle. Responsibilities include:

- Providing support to Bankers in servicing the needs of our clients including for complex transactions, operational requirements and day-to-day enquiries
- Developing and designing pitch material
- Performing portfolio monitoring activities such as excess management and other reporting requirements. This includes liaising with credit risk and other teams across the bank as and when required
- Inputting and maintaining client, credit, and transaction data to ensure data accuracy and quality across systems
- Collecting client information to facilitate and support the Know Your Customer (KYC) on-boarding process for new clients and the KYC review process for existing clients
- Working as part of a Deal Team over the lifecycle of a deal - from deal structuring to deal execution, settlement and in-life maintenance
- Participating in client meetings and capturing detailed meeting notes
- Liaising with clients to arrange meetings as and when required

**We’re interested in hearing from people who have**:

- Tertiary qualifications in law, finance or business related disciplines who have achieved strong academic results
- An understanding of risk management and credit risk issues, and have demonstrable financial modelling, research and analytical skills
- Knowledge of CBA systems and credit policies will be highly regarded but not essential, as will experience in Corporate or Institutional Banking
- Previous sector exposure to the Federal or ACT Governments would be viewed favourably
