Sitting within CBA’s Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M) business, the Government team in Canberra proactively develop client relationships and originate new opportunities supporting Federal Government and ACT Government clients.
**Do work that matters**:
As an Associate Director in the team you’ll be responsible for providing superior relationship management to your clients. This will include responding to their needs as well as identifying and identifying new business opportunities which have a positive impact for our clients and the Bank.
Responsibilities will include:
- Relationship management of a portfolio of government clients to deliver transaction banking, health payment, asset financing, capital, data and risk management solutions.
- Develop expertise in the government sector and provide unique insights in order to identify and originate viable transaction, structuring and business improvement opportunities.
- Cultivating and owning relationships with stakeholders, include representing CBA at events.
- Leading and supporting a project team in transaction bidding and execution.
- Coordinating with internal business partners within the bank to develop and execute client engagement strategy, including the preparation of external client presentations.
- Identify and actively manage the full spectrum of risks and responsibilities associated with the origination and on-going management of clients.
- Providing leadership and development to junior bankers.
**We’re interested in hearing from people who have**:
- Proven banking experience, particularly in Transaction Banking and/or Relationship Management
- Excellent communication skills including demonstrable writing, analytical, pitching and presentation skills
- A good listener who builds engaging strong relationships and can solve customer problems
- Prior exposure to the Government sector is highly desirable but not essential.
- Motivated and committed to bring their best self to work each day to drive strong outcomes for the business and our clients
- Able to work independently, take ownership and follow up proactively
- Excited by the prospect of working in a team that has high impact for our clients and Australians’ more broadly
