Recruitment and Payroll Specialist

Be a part of a State Government Department as a Recruitment/Payroll Specialist, work with managers and HR consultants to manage varied and complex HR operational matters.
- 4-month contract (with a possible extension)
- Based in Melbourne CBD
- Pay rate: $44.88 - $50.90 per hour (depending on experience)
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide advice on the appropriate interpretation of Department HR policy
- Provide consultancy advice to senior management on complex HR issues to enable informed decisions to be made (e.g. workforce strategic planning/employee health/learning and development)
- Work with managers and staff to identify and or solve HR challenges pertaining to their area of responsibility (e.g. misconduct, unsatisfactory performance, workplace claims, legislative matters, pay issues)
- Lead and support the culture of service excellence, collaboration and professional growth
- Scope, implement and monitor small and medium size projects for maintaining the integrity of the payroll system.
- Act as the escalation point to resolve complex payroll issues.
- Constantly review and update HR operational guidelines and procedures to ensure HR Consultants have access to up-to-date information, advice and support
- Support management in the implementation of HR change processes arising from changes to HR policy, relevant agreements and the wider branch or divisional business plans and targets
- Provide sound information and considered advice to managers and staff on changes to HR policies and practices as they relate to schools and regional workforces
**Requirements and Qualifications**:
- Experienced in recruitment and in addition, experienced in case managing redeployees.
- Experienced in undertaking HR generalist activities.
- Accommodates and works well with the different working styles of others.
- Committed to delivering high quality outcomes for clients.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with people at all levels.
- Forges useful partnerships with people across business areas, functions and organisations
- Relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
