**Job Description**:
This is a newly created role for an Employee Relations Consultant to join our Partnering and People Experience team. You will be responsible for providing workplace relations support and expert advice to TAL employees on a range of matters including performance, conduct and work and non-work related ill/injuries.

This is a **12-month contract**, working flexibly from our Sydney 2000 office.

In this role you will:

- Provide interpretation, advice, and guidance to People Leaders on employment-related matters using technical and professional skills/knowledge regarding policies, standards & procedures
- Manage cases of employee misconduct or poor performance, including developing appropriate action plans, providing support to managers and employees, and monitoring progress
- Consult with our Employee Relations Manager and the Employment Law team to interpret awards, agreements, and legislation to provide practical solutions on Employee Relations issues
- Develop policies, procedures, templates, and checklists on employee relations matters including performance management, misconduct, disputes and terminations
- Identify the need to add/review policies ad-hoc in response to emerging legislations and trends
- Maintain accurate records and other relevant material, as well as prepare carefully drafted documentation and correspondence
- Coach and collaborate with our broader People & Culture team to deliver client solutions

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in an Industrial Relations role, coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications
- Understand key employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act, the NES and industrial instruments (EAs, BFI Award)
- Demonstrated employee relations case management experience including performance management, conduct, grievance and return to work cases
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to manage external stakeholders including unions, utilising strong diplomacy skills to enable productive relationships
