Primarily, the role will be to support the Head of Employee Relations, Singapore and Pacific and will be responsible for undertaking complex employee relations investigations across multiple geographies and this will include investigations received via all channels. Further, the role also performs specialist investigations, you will also be expected to benchmark and implement best practices to support and up-skill capability of other investigators and parrner with teams across all countries and regions on a daily basis. You will also support the Market Head of Human Resources towards managing Market-level concerns and legislative implications.

The role would be dealing with some of the cases potentially exposing the Bank for serious negative reputational impact; potential regulatory action; potential implication of senior management; whether the allegation or incident involves cross-border activities; potential or actual negative media comment; and potential Market, Region or Group-wide implications.

Your main responsibilities will include:

•Undertake complex HR investigations across multiple geographies

•Support the ASP HSBCC Triage process by triaging HSBCC cases allocated to HR to determine the most appropriate route to resolution. Role holder will also manage such activity should this process be extended to other cases received via other channels such as HR Direct, Exec escalations.

•Point of contact for escalation, guidance and oversight on ER cases for other ER / HRA colleagues when needed

•Review legislation alerts and updates, complete consultation requirements and implement policy updates as required for key areas such as domestic violence, Psycho-social, Respect at Work and the Right to Disconnect

•Establishing sound and constructive working relationships within ER and with broader HR function including HRA’s

•Manage return to work policy implementation for Australia and New Zealand 

•Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports for Exco and the board

•The role holder need to be able to successfully navigate and manage organisational complexity.

•The role offers great exposure to senior HR and business stakeholders. The role holder will be involved in complex but interesting ER activity. The successful candidate will be working as part of a dynamic ER team.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

·Completion of a professional qualification in HR, or/and employment law or equivalent experience

·Significant experience in conducting complex investigations and exposure in dealing with Regulators / Legal teams will be an advantage

·Strong understanding of Employee Relations Principles for handling employee grievance / conduct / whistleblowing issues

·Ability to prioritise and manage changing priorities and deadlines

·Strong listening, negotiation, and analytical skills

·Strong communication skills with experience in report writing

·Resilience in managing difficult situations and acting with tact, empathy and diplomacy

·Knowledge of the HSBC Group corporate structures, its business and personnel and a clear understanding of HSBC’s corporate culture will be a definite advantage
