We are looking for an Innovation Acceleration Manager to support the Group in accelerating the development of new technologies and facilitating their swift conversion into business and societal value.

Reporting to the Head of Innovation Office and working in a challenging and exciting environment within the Innovation, Science & Technology Group, you will be:

- Work collaboratively with our Product Groups and Functions to understand the specific opportunities and challenges being targeted and the key drivers of the approach being pursued
- Chart and recommend pathways to enhance these approaches, encompassing resourcing strategies, techniques for technical and commercial risk mitigation, considerations regarding scale of operation, strategies for external partnerships, and testing methodologies and beyond
- Be responsible for helping to enact these new approaches and co-leading teams in support of this.
- Collaborate heavily with Rio Tinto’s PACE Consulting team to enact new approaches effectively, prioritize projects and provide necessary support.

- Stand out critical analysis and structured hypothesis generation capability
- An ability to align the goals of specific technology development being supported and wider Group innovation goals and strategy
- An ability to manage scope, adjusting timing where required to ensure right outcomes are delivered
- Exemplary influencing skills to support enacting new approaches to in-flight technology development projects where you won’t always have line accountability
- A deep sense of curiosity and problem-solving mindset, an ability to understand technical and commercial drivers
- An understanding of project management and delivery in R&D and a focus on respectful delivery and role modelling of underpinning behaviours at all time
- Tenacity and a innate desire to find a way and courage to be objective and fact based
- Accomplished written and verbal communicator
