Salary Range: $97,735 - $110,982 + Attractive Superannuation
The Business Improvement Section is focused on evidence-based continuous improvement to ensure our clients receive streamlined and accurate decisions in respect to their claims. The Section also supports DVA’s strategic objectives through targeted efficiency improvements aimed at delivering best practice solutions to streamline processes and enhance the client service experience.
We are seeking Business Improvement Officers to work in partnership with service delivery teams to enhance claims processing capability and the DVA experience for veterans and their families.
The positions will undertake critical assessment of business processes, project management and the design and implementation of improvement initiatives to achieve client focused outcomes.
**Duties**
- Investigate, analyse and evaluate work practices, programs, policy and procedures.
- Facilitate requirements gathering and training sessions.
- Design and implement new services, systems and system improvement initiatives and projects within given timeframes.
- Prepare briefs, submissions, and recommendations on business improvement initiatives to senior management.
- Engage and consult with internal and/or external stakeholders and build strong working relationships.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues, solves problems and implement business improvement initiatives in a timely manner
- Assist with the preparation of statistical information, estimates of expenditure and other reports as required.
- Assist with the implementation of cultural and procedural change to achieve a client focused culture.
- The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this level.
**Eligibility**
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
- All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
**Notes**
Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months.
A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
