About the Role

The APS is seeking highly motivated and experienced professionals to fill multiple positions as APS 6 Business Intelligence Officers within Army. As a Business Intelligence Officer, you will be accountable for performing and achieving moderate to complex business intelligence work in direct support to operational capability of the 2nd (Australian) Division (2 (AS) DIV).

You will be part of an embedded workforce and employed within multi-disciplinary, integrated teams (predominantly Army) that provides command and control, operations and planning, training and recruitment functions towards a number of Defence capabilities across Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate, consistent, timely and appropriate advice in relation to business intelligence activities.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, program and project management or policy development for the work unit.
  • Apply knowledge of relevant legislation and Defence policies and procedures to ensure analysis is relevant to the business context.
  • Undertake research and analysis to discover patterns, anomalies and trends in data.
  • Effectively communicate insight derived from analysis to support decision making.
Requirements
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to plan, manage and coordinate Business Intelligence functions.
  • Adaptability in meeting the needs of a changeable work environment.
  • Experience in technical reporting utilising spreadsheets and data inputs.
  • Understanding of contemporary corporate governance/compliance.
About Our Team

The APS 6 Business Intelligence Officers are part of an embedded workforce and are employed within multi-disciplinary, integrated teams (predominantly Army) that provides command and control, operations and planning, training and recruitment functions towards a number of Defence capabilities across Australia.

Our Division has a high performing culture and an evolving role in Army and Defence, directly enabling Army to resource and execute the recruitment, training, and sustainment of land forces.
