**The Role**
The duties of the Project Support Officer occupation in the NAVWAR directorate include the following;
- Provide operational support to the Project Manager and Director; and facilitate administrative and coordination requirements;
- Accountable to lead the development and maintenance of project planning and processes in accordance with agreed procedures and performance standards;
- Research, draft and prepare briefs, complex correspondence and reports including submissions for committee consideration;
- Work collaboratively, operate as an effective team member and provide constructive feedback;
- Engage with relevant stakeholders and understand their expectations and concerns.
- Assess and adjust project management methodologies to comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks;
- Resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action;
- Contribute to strategic planning and maintain NAVWAR project schedule;
- Contribute to and maintain NAVWAR website on the DPN.

**About our Team**
The role is in the NAVWAR Directorate that is implementing a defence program that supports war fighter preparedness and develops a multilayered Position, Navigation and Timing strategy for Defence.

The immediate focus is to provide NAVWAR situational awareness when operating in a congested and contested electromagnetic environment. The position requires sound Defence writing skills as doctrine and policy are one priority.

The Project Support Officer will be accountable under broad

direction to perform and achieve complex project work within an integrated workforce.
- They will be accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
- They will provide detailed project technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development;
- The Project Support Officer will lead a team and be accountable to set work priorities and manage workflows. They are expected to be capable of building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work unit;
- Liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes;
- They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
