You will lead and drive the strategic direction and vision for the People and Culture Business Unit in collaboration with the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams.

**The Role**:
As part of Council's Senior Leadership Team, your portfolio will be People and Culture including all aspects of human resources, industrial relations, learning and development, recruitment and payroll functions.

You will lead and manage all People and Culture functions and activities so that legislative obligations are met and the organisation's people receive training, industrial support and remuneration in a manner that supports the success of all business units. This, in turn, will contribute to the delivery of the Community Strategic Plan outcomes and the continued fostering of Council's strong culture.

The role will also oversee policy, compliance and budget items across the group.

**The Person**:
We are looking for an enthusiastic leader with proven experience in the human resource and industrial relations portfolios.

You will use your strong engagement, networking and negotiation skills to lead and drive the strategic direction of Council’s People and Culture Business Unit.

You will be an excellent collaborator working across the organisation to provide support to Council’s people and in particular staff with supervisor, management and executive management responsibilities. You, and the team you lead, will contribute to the organisation’s delivery of fair outcomes for our people so that they can provide efficient and effective services and infrastructure to the community.

Excellence in leadership and people management will be essential to continue to foster a progressive and vibrant culture.
