**Position Information**:
Eleebana Public School is a proud public school catering for students from kindergarten to Year 6 in the Lake Macquarie North Principal Network. Our dedicated and experienced staff consists of 30 teachers, 4 Assistant Principals, Assistant Principal Curriculum and Instruction, a Deputy Principal and Principal. Student enrolment in 2024 is 510 students, including 29 Aboriginal and 28 EAL/D students. We currently have 20 mainstream classes and one support class.We continue to achieve academically above regional and state averages and have a strong student representation in sport, leadership, cultural activities and in the creative and performing arts. There are opportunities for every student to achieve through challenging programs for high potential and gifted students and a wide range of extracurricular activities and effective support programs.Our whole school focus to improve student growth and attainment is underpinned by our understanding of evidence-based high impact teaching practices and current research on effective Reading and Numeracy instruction. Guided by the What Works Best: 2020 Update and the Explicit Teaching approach, our school executive and Assistant Principal Curriculum and Instruction, provide shoulder to shoulder support, working collaboratively to build staff capacity and enhance student outcomes. Our research-based approach to improving teaching practice aligns with and strongly supports the content and pedagogy of the NSW curriculum reform.We have a strategic focus on wellbeing, inclusion and authentic partnerships. We work closely with our parent community and the Warners Bay Community of Schools with the support of our AECG, DoE staff and external specialists, to access learning, resources and interventions to support students, staff and our community. Our whole-school values and behaviour expectations (Act Belong Commit) and planned opportunities for partnering with our parents and wider school community, helps Eleebana PS foster relationships and opportunities to benefit staff and students.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with a proven capacity to work as part of an executive team and effectively balance the dual roles of exemplary classroom teacher and the complex responsibilities of the Assistant Principal role.
Demonstrated expertise in leading and inspiring quality teaching and learning, with a strong focus on explicit teaching and curriculum reform, and a proven ability to mentor and guide staff in implementing data-informed, evidence-based practices that drive continuous improvement.
Demonstrated ability to model and implement best practice in differentiated and personalised wellbeing and learning support to meet the needs of a diverse range of students
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
