**Position Information**:
Arcadia Vale Public School is a small school on the western shores of Lake Macquarie serving the Arcadia Vale community. It’s enrolment of 166 students, includes 14% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders, 2% with a non-English speaking background and a multi-categorical support unit.
The school vision is for all students to achieve personal excellence in a respectful, community-focused environment. Staff are committed to delivering evidence-based teaching and learning programs that are personalised to meet the individual learning needs of all students. The successful applicant will take a lead role in ensuring best pedagogical practice in alignment with syllabus requirements, professional performance and demonstrate dedication to the learning growth for each and every student. The appointed person is required to have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, a proven commitment to fostering community involvement and be driven to learn and implement innovative practices that improve student outcomes.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria
1. Approval to teach Infants and/or Primary with the proven capacity to balance exemplary classroom teaching practices with the complex responsibilities of a school leadership role.
2. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the executive to effectively lead a school wide culture that drives school improvement through high performance, continuous improvement and data-informed decision making
3. Demonstrated exemplary practice in planning, implementing, and reviewing teaching and learning programs, enabling differentiated, high-impact professional learning that ensures continual development and growth of teacher expertise in the teaching of literacy and numeracy
4. Demonstrated strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, effective communication and outstanding organisation, with commitment to building capacity of all staff to drive inclusivity, equity and cultural safety
5. Evidenced ability to foster relationships with the broader community in the successful implementation of whole school initiatives, wellbeing practices and extra-curricular activities

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
