Our Government client is seeking an administration assistant to provide high level, comprehensive and confidential administrative support.

**Brief Summary of Duties**
- Provides high level, confidential administrative support.
- Organises and maintains a schedule of appointments, meetings and other commitments for staff to enable efficient time management.
- Develops and maintains confidential filing system, pending and reminder systems to meet deadlines.
- Compiles and collates files, papers and other information to brief unit staff on issues or to prepare for meetings.
- Provides a high level of customer service to staff, contractors and visitors who present in person or over the phone and redirects as appropriate.
- Prepares accurate and timely correspondence and reports and prepares and formats complex documents to a high standard of accuracy and presentation.
- Compiles and summarises information and assists with the preparation of reports.
- Maintains record management systems and retrieves information; ensuring the security and retention of confidential documents.
- Prepares and maintains appropriate documentation for Human Resource (HR) processes, including recruitment and appointment, payroll, and leave processes.
- Provides administrative support in procurement processes.
- Undertakes financial related administrative duties including facilitating payment of accounts by creating purchase requisitions, processing invoices and assisting with accounts reconciliation.
- Assists with monthly financial and activity reporting.
- Updates policy, guidelines, and procedures manual as directed.
- Executes on the job training and provides support for casual and temporary staff as required.

**Essential Skills & Experience**
- Demonstrated extensive experience in the provision of administrative support in a corporate services setting, including familiarity with EMPAC and Oracle systems or similar.
- Well-developed customer service, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers and staff of all levels.
- Demonstrated initiative and flexibility to undertake duties without direct supervision and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in relaying information.
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- High level word processing and spreadsheet skills, experience in the use of the MS Office suite and good knowledge of its capabilities.

**_NB: A Current National Police Clearance is required prior to commencement_
