**Description**:

- There is a requirement for a Commercial Officer to support a Defence department in Canberra. This department is responsible for collaborating closely with Air Force Headquarters to progress major air combat acquisition projects through to government approvals and then successfully transitioning projects to the appropriate capability delivery organisations. It is critical to ensure our workload is optimally distributed and the Project Manager drive projects outcomes to achieve the capability outcomes.**Key Deliverables**:

- Accountable to the Commercial Lead to complete of work within agreed timeframes and quality requirements.
- Provide advice and support to procurement planning, tendering and contract formation and contract management activities while ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes and procedures.
- Provide clear direction during the procurement lifecycle on contracting activities including coordination of legal and financial services.
- Review complex to very complex contracting correspondence including providing high level advice in relation to commercially sensitive reports, submissions, contract change proposals and other documents as required.
- Build, sustain and encourage productive working relationships with stakeholders to influence decisions and ensure alignment with broader Defence objectives.
- Analyse, identify and develop mitigation strategies for the risks associated with procurement and contracting activities, contract performance, and compliance with legislative and policy frameworks.
- Design and implement innovative solutions, consulting as appropriate on complex to very complex and strategic procurement contracting issues.

**Task Outcomes**:

- Accountable to the Commercial Lead of correctness, accuracy, compliance and quality of all procurement and contracting documentation (including but not limited to Contracts, international agreements, procurements documentation such as ETPs, Sec 23 etc., change proposals, contract management documentation).
- Develop and deliver succinct written and verbal communications (e.g., Submissions, Briefs, Talking Points, presentations, analysis, reports etc.) for stakeholder both internal and external as well as to a level and quality that can be consumed by the senior leadership.

**Desirable**:

- CASG / Military aerospace domain experience.
- Appropriately qualified in and experienced in Contracting and procurement.
- Capability Development and experience in development Capability Proposals for Government
- Strong Defence writing skills.
- Resilience in a highly demanding, constantly changing work environment.
- Active NV1 Clearance
