**What this opportunity involves**:
We are looking for a smart, capable and business savvy interior design professional to join our design services business in Australia, and be at the forefront of our Retail Banking Design team.
This will be a hands-on role and would be ideal for someone looking to gain access to a global property network to expand both their skill set and network. Fantastic communication skills are a must.
The role involves working in house at the Client’s office, supporting the Design Director. You will be working in a premium office based on the fringe of Melbourne CBD with both train and tram accessibility.
This is a great opportunity for a client-facing Designer who is ready to take their next step and make a name for themselves.
**Your role**:
Responsible for leading, growing and nurturing our Retail Banking design capability in Australia.
Working with our client and design team members in Australia to enhance our design delivery capabilities and encourage standard documentation platforms across our Retail Design projects.
High level overview of design across various sites to ensure best options presented back to our client. This involves putting our best foot forward and exploring all design options available.
Understand the financial model driving projects to streamline delivery and reduce risk through the design and documentation process.
Design management including chairing meetings and design forums; ensuring relevant stakeholders have access to the latest guidelines, details and specifications
Managing the correct use and specification of the design standards and ensure relevant users have access to the latest guidelines.
Checking supplied design documentation to ensure design standards have been applied correctly
Work with the project delivery team to adapt designs to suit site specific conditions
Provide support to the design director as required and develop design initiatives outside of rolling program
Liaise and connect with current / new suppliers and manufacturers of products and finishes to ensure access to best in class products and materials
Provide design solutions to stakeholders to resolve issues that may arise on site or during the design phase of projects.
Provide design solutions to internal stakeholders to assist with the value engineering of projects where required.
All round project experience - from concept design through to construction documentation and on-site experience - demonstrated by portfolio of previous projects.
Design experience in the Retail Banking space will be an added advantage
Ability to use Adobe Suite programs, with 3D modelling knowledge as a strong advantage.
Strong verbal and visual presentation skills (hand sketch and/or digital).
Ability to read / communicate documentation in accordance with National Construction Code and relevant codes.
Great communicator with an open minded and positive attitude.
Demonstrated ability to check site specific design documentation to ensure design standards have been applied correctly
Enjoys working and learning within a large vibrant team of property professionals
Experience dealing directly with clients and the ability to self-manage time and juggle multiple projects
