**About the Organisation**

**About the Role**
The Community Wellbeing and Inclusion Division at City of Port Phillip is looking for a strategic Manager Community Building & Inclusion with a solutions focused and growth mindset.
Reporting to the General Manager, Community Wellbeing and Inclusion you will lead the department who run and support a range of community development initiatives and programs aimed at increasing inclusion, reducing loneliness and isolation, creating a welcoming city, volunteer and grants programs, and housing, homelessness and indigenous programs.
Ideally, this role would suit a leader with strong social policy experience and exposure to developing inclusive local community programs and initiatives.

1 x full-time 5 year fixed term opportunity.
**Duties**:
- Build strong and productive relationships and partnerships with the community as well as the community sector and government agencies.
- Lead the department in the development of social policy that aligns with community need and evolution.
- Manage and lead community development and inclusion programs and initiatives.
- Lead Councils indigenous programs for a culturally safe workplace, building community relationships and pro-actively leading reconciliation and treaty.
- Manage the implementation housing and homelessness responses.
- Lead an effective Integrated Community Service Planning and Review.
- Undertake the role of Deputy Municipal Emergency Manager Officer (Deputy MEMO).
- Lead, mentor and develop your team.
**Skills and Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or substantial and significant relevant industry experience
- Strong social policy development and implementation experience
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage, negotiate, advocate and influence a broad range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to take the initiative, drive change and implement innovative solutions to deliver project outcomes and Council priorities
- Sound understanding of the economic, political, social and cultural issues relating to the local government sector would be highly regarded
