At WorkCover Queensland, we're dedicated to advancing First Nations initiatives. We actively seek engagement in co-designing, planning, developing, and monitoring our First Nations Strategy. Our vision is to support reconciliation by empowering businesses and inspiring careers, and this will be achieved through the delivery of our First Nations Strategy which is currently in development. In the spirit of self-determination this strategy will be developed in consultation with, and delivered by, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples employed in Identified positions within WorkCover.

The role of First Nations Strategy Lead (Indigenous Identified) is accountable for the delivery of WorkCover’s First Nations Strategy in partnership with other business areas. The role will also involve the delivery of the employment stream within our First Nations strategy, building cultural capability for employees and leaders, and fostering cultural safety and belonging for our First Nations workforce. Additionally, it will involve advising on talent strategies to attract, develop, grow and retain our First Nations Workforce and championing our vision for reconciliation by leading other strategic First Nations activities.

**You’ll also contribute to**:

- Leading and guiding the development and delivery of WorkCover’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group, partnering with the RAP Sponsor.
- Identifying and scoping initiatives within WorkCover’s First Nations Strategy.
- Building productive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver First Nations Strategy activities.
- Advising on HR strategies impacting the First Nations workforce, actively promoting cultural capability across programs, projects and streams of work.

**A Bit About You**:

- Hold qualifications and a proven background in human resources, organisational psychology, learning and development, or other behavioural sciences fields.
- An excellent understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures including the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully.
- An ability to leverage lived experiences to effectively guide and shape cultural capability, design and delivery of programs and initiatives.
- Strong skills in handling and influencing diverse stakeholder relationships, coupled with superior research analysis and report writing capabilities.

As an identified position, part of this role will involve significant interaction with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their representatives across Queensland. Applicants will need to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander society.
