In 2021, items from the collection were viewed more than 121 million times across the country, making it one of the nation’s most vital and utilised cultural resources.

The institution is investing in a comprehensive digital transformation program, during which more of the items in our care will digitised for preservation and, once digitised, become more readily searchable and accessible by all Australians.

A core component of the transformation program will be building national audiences for the collection through improved online services and content offerings that will be brought alive through a compelling, relevant and dynamic institutional voice.

**About the People and Culture Team**

The People and Culture (P&C) team plays an important operational and strategic role by partnering with leaders across the Agency to achieve the goal of becoming Australia’s most dynamic and valued cultural organisation.

The team consists of 1 x EL2, 2 x EL1, 2 x APS 6 1x APS 5 and an APS4 staff members and delivers all elements of human resources to the NFSA including, but not limited to, workforce planning, payroll, learning and development, WHS, wellbeing, recruitment, performance management and HR reporting. The team is responsible for leading and managing NFSA’s current and future workforce, including driving the strategic future growth and culture of the NFSA.

The Workforce Planning Manager is responsible for developing and shaping the workforce strategy for the NFSA. Working with the Snr Manager P&C, the role will contribute to defining the business objectives and creating evidence-based workforce strategies, organisational structures and workforce plans required to support and enable effective and efficient activities, actions and operations.

The role will help to identify capability and capacity requirements to manage the supply of talent. From an operational perspective, the position works with P&C team to deliver customer-focused services to optimise the employment life-cycle experience at an individual and organisational level.

The Workforce Planning Manager role will deliver the following functions:

- Supporting the development and implementation of strategies to mitigate workforce risks and develop materials and documentation to support effective workforce management.
- In collaboration with the P&C Snr Manager and Manager Technical, manage the position establishments for the NFSA and the reporting requirements.
- Liaise with stakeholders to obtain workforce planning intelligence to support the development of workforce resources.
- Build and sustain relationships with a range of stakeholders across the NFSA to achieve outcomes.
- Analyse workforce data, understand and monitor the impact of changes to the workforce over the short, medium and long term.

They will have a keen eye for detail and be innovative and self-motivated to prioritise and complete tasks within agreed timeframes.

They will have the ability to work effectively in a small and high performing team with competing priorities and deadlines. Most of all, they will be passionate about improving the workforce of the NFSA.

Qualifications and/or equivalent experience required:

- Workforce Planning
- Human resource management

**Eligibility**

To be eligible for this position you must:

- Be an Australian Citizen
- Satisfactorily complete an Australian Federal Police National Police Check
- Obtain and maintain an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.
