To co-ordinate Youthlink’s Reconnect program covering the Blacktown LGA, ensuring it continues to provide an accessible and responsive early intervention service, assisting homeless young people, or those at risk of homelessness, and their families, within the Blacktown LGA, in a manner consistent with funding guidelines. The coordinator also is responsible for providing individual and family counselling. The coordinator is part of the Youthlink Management Board contributing to the development and review of all Youthlink services.

Service delivery
- Coordinate an accessible, fast, mobile, flexible and free crisis intervention service to homeless young people, or those at risk of homelessness, and their families. This includes, handling inquiries and referrals, assessing needs, offering immediate crisis support and practical assistance.
- Provide and manage the provision of a full range of evidence based, recovery oriented therapeutic services that are strength based
- Provide Individual counselling, family mediation, conflict resolution, specialist referrals and support directed towards individual healing and improved family relationships, effecting family reconciliation wherever appropriate.
- Assist young people to link or re-link into education, training, employment and the community through referrals, practical assistance, advocacy, motivational counselling and ongoing mentoring and support
- Work with Youthlink Manager to ensure the programs are meeting key performance indicators.
- Coordinate the day to day operation of the Reconnect Blacktown and manage the Reconnect staff. ( 1x case manager, 1 x Counsellor)
- Ensure appropriate early intervention strategies are being applied on an individual needs basis from a ‘tool box’ of available strategies.
- Develop and monitor program plans and strategies, risk management plans and maintain required documentation, records, reports and data collection.
- Ensure program KPI’s and benchmarks are met and reported on when required
- Assist in the organising and running of educational workshops, seminars and groups for young people and/or parents to meet identified needs.
- Participate in Youthlink staff development days, team leader’s meetings and Reconnect team meetings when scheduled and demonstrates a supportive approach to other staff members which contributes to the overall team effectiveness.
- Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high-quality services.
- Develop plans and strategies to ensure that barriers to quality services are addressed.
- Ensure program resources and manuals are updated and available to be used by staff and management and in training for staff.
- Ensure all financial requirements are compliant with standard policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A strong team focus with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and build relationships with people of all backgrounds
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or other allied health discipline recognised by the tertiary mental health services sector,
- Registration with AHPRA and/ or other professional association.
- Experience in the coordination and delivery of youth services inclusive of specialist skills in assessing, managing and treating clients.
- Able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of strength based focused practice- The Salvation Army is a child safe organisation and is committed to protecting children and young people from harm. All child facing roles will require the successful completion of a Working with Children Check. Applicants for all roles require a mandatory National Police Check._
