**About the Role**

The role of the Performance Analyst is to analyse, understand and report on operational performance of the public transport network; communicating insights that support decision making that leads to operational performance improvements.

**Key Accountabilities**

Mobility and Insights is a division of the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for the delivery of better outcomes for users of the transport system through developing and coordinating customer and transport system insights, strategy and innovation.

The Performance Analyst position sits within the Mobility and Insights division and is responsible for undertaking data reporting and insights on public transport operational performance for internal and external stakeholders to help drive continuous improvement. The Performance Analyst works closely with colleagues within and beyond the Public Transport Operational Performance Analysis team to understand and respond to changing business needs.

**Key Selection Criteria**:

- Experience in undertaking analysis, reviewing, testing, interpreting, and drawing inference from complex data and presenting results in a clear and comprehensible manner.
- Developed understanding of information systems and the ability to develop and communicate specifications to meet both technical and business requirements.
- Ability to manage and test large volume of data from multiple sources, draw inferences, and generate comprehensive reports, analyses, and advice on operational performance.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of computer-based systems and tools in an analysis environment, in particular, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server and / or programming languages.

**Qualifications (mandatory)**
- Demonstrated experience in one or more visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience in one or more programming language (SQL, R, Phyton, etc.)
