**About the role**:
This position will hold accountability for acute mental health services in the South East Region, and will lead a small team to coordinate and lead responses to new and emerging issues and risks relating to the delivery of acute mental health services, including work to monitor and improve the delivery and performance of health services.
The role will also lead the coordination of transformational reforms to acute services at a statewide in line with the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System.
The role involves developing effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including Health Services and a range of program and policy areas within the department.
The successful applicant will demonstrate sound leadership and people management skills, as well as an ability to influence others to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of the Victorian health workforces and take a proactive approach to improve outcomes for Victorians.

**How you'll make a difference**:
The key accounatbilities of this role will be to provide leadership to a team responsible for the development of strategies to drive and monitor Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service transformation at a statewide level in line with the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System. This includes commissioning and performance management of acute mental health services in the South East region to meet the needs of consumers.
**Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate**:
- A tertiary qualification in fields related to public policy, health administration or business management is desirable.
- Expertise in health service performance and commissioning.
- A strong understanding of the Victorian health system, and knowledge of the department and its operating processes and information systems is essential.
