Location: Melbourne | CBD
Job type: Full time
Organisation: Suburban Rail Loop Authority
**Salary**: $92,332 - $104,762
Occupation: Accounting
Reference: 2793
Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) is a city and state-shaping project that will transform Victoria's public transport system, connecting our suburbs and creating opportunities in great places. The 90-kilometre Loop will link every major rail line from the Frankston line to the Werribee line, via Melbourne Airport, better connecting Victorians to jobs, retail, education, health services and each other.
Beyond the rail infrastructure and cross-suburb travel connections, over time SRL will reshape Melbourne from a city centred around a single CBD to a ‘city of centres' - attracting more businesses and people to the broader station areas and creating more jobs in Melbourne's middle suburbs closer to where people live. Local initiatives will include new and improved open and public space, tree planting, more walking and cycling paths, retail and hospitality areas and plazas.
**About the opportunity**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented internal audit professional to join a highly motivated and dynamic team. Your work will span across the business, and you will have the chance to collaborate with and understand our unique business areas from rail and infrastructure delivery and planning and precinct design to our IT projects, HR programs and procurement. - Nurturing relationships with stakeholders in order to optimise the effectiveness and value of internal audit as both an assurance provider and business adviser
- Executing internal audits in accordance with the Internal Audit Strategy, delivery framework, methodology and best practice
- Executing audit work plans including identifying audit objectives, conducting risk assessments, designing audit procedures and developing audit budgets and timelines
- Conducting interviews with stakeholders to understand and document processes under review and identify relevant risks and controls
- Assessing control adequacy and effectiveness and identifying improvement opportunities through data and trend analyses
- Preparing internal audit reports that articulate key findings, behavioural drivers behind findings and practical recommendations to management
- Monitoring open management agreed actions, validating evidence provided by management to support closure of actions
- Contributing to the preparation of reports for the Audit and Finance Committee
- Identifying and investigating the latest innovative and contemporary audit trends and practices
- Assisting with administration of audit-related registers in the organisation’s integrated enterprise governance, risk, audit and compliance system
This is a permanent, full-time role with access to flexible working arrangements. You will work in a hybrid work model.
