Principal Technical Officer

To thrive in this role you will need to demonstrate the following: - Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with all levels of internal and external stakeholders to document requirements, processes and work instructions. Ability to assist with data and network design including security administration of firewalls, antivirus, monitoring and reporting platforms. Experience with network equipment and technologies specifically in an ITS operating environment. Ability to coordinate, install, configure, and test the monitoring of network systems. Demonstrated ability to assist with budget estimates aiding in capturing, planning, and coordinating work.
**Mandatory qualifications and conditions**: - Possession of an advanced diploma or diploma or associate degree or graduate diploma in IT, engineering, telecommunications, or an acceptable equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution/ university. Required to be available to participate in after hours and on-call support. Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
**Desirable requirements**: - Technical background across multi-vendor (Cisco, Juniper, and so on) environments and associated technologies, standards and best practises in WAN, LAN and wireless LAN and Data Centre environments
- Familiarity with change management methodology
