About the Role

We have an exciting 18-month contract, full time opportunity for a Accounts Payable Officer to join our Salvos Store Finance team in Mount Waverley, Melbourne.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for accounts payable processing and associated tasks in a timely and accurate manner to support The Salvation Army retail stores.

Key responsibilities:

- Accounts Payable: Process Accounts Payable invoices, Petty Cash and the reconciliation of suppliers’ statements and review, verify for payments
- Accounts Receivable: Ensure that all invoices are processed correctly and timely. Maintain the debtor detail and update the AR ledger/chart frequently
- Bank Reconciliation: Coordinate reconciliation of bank accounts, including but not limited to processing all direct deposits into Salvos Stores bank accounts
- Reporting: Assist with the production of various financial and management reports. Prepare monthly accruals and assisting with month end and year end closing and reporting
- Provide support and assistance as required in the areas of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Financial Management

About You

Key Capabilities:

- Solid understanding of accounts payable and bank reconciliation principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate Excel and Microsoft Office skills

Requirements of the role:

- Diploma in accounting is preferred
- Technology One system experience or similar preferred
- National Criminal History Record Check
