**Your role**:
As a Maritime Warfare Officer, you’ll be responsible for ships or submarines at sea in all aspects of maritime safety, navigation, and collision avoidance. You will also play a key role in contributing to the warfare and tactical operations, positioning to enable the use of weapons, and assisting in identifying advancing aircraft and vessels.

Whether you have recently finished school, currently studying, already in the workforce or you have no experience at all, we’re hiring. You’ll be paid from day one to gain all the skills needed with extensive on-the-job training.

**Your duties include, but are not limited to**:

- Navigation
- Ship handling and safety
- Bridgemanship
- Warfare tactics
- Identifying aircraft, submarines, and ships
- Leadership and management to sailors and junior officers

**Submariner**:
There is also the option to specialise as a submariner and be a part of the most exclusive and stable workforce in Australia. You’ll contribute to warfare activities and be responsible for the control, navigation systems and maritime safety of Navy submarines at sea.

**Salary**:
Upon completion of your initial military and employment training, you’ll enjoy a salary package starting from $97,456 for surface fleet and $108,884 for submariners.

For this role, you must be over 17 at time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, have completed Year 12 and obtained a high enough entrance rank to qualify.
