**About the Division**
This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Director to join a small but fast-paced Human Resources (HR) team within the People and Services section. The position will support the Director, People and Services to consult and collaborate with the agency to implement strategic and operational workforce planning, organisational culture initiatives, diversity related HR projects, and provide secretariat for HR related committees. This role would suit a HR professional in the ‘Advanced’ phase of their career

**Duties and Tasks**
- Lead and build a small team through sharing knowledge, coaching and mentoring, performance feedback and encouraging a culture of lifelong learning within the team.
- Management of workforce planning for the agency, including the development and governance of the Agency's Workforce Plan, branch operational workforce plans, Job Family profiles, developing capability frameworks and undertaking job design and evaluation activities
- Support the Agency's Lead Negotiator in Enterprise Bargaining negotiations
- Draft high-level correspondence, policies, plans, and strategies, tailoring information to different audiences in a clear and unambiguous manner.
- Oversee Learning and Development (L&D) in the agency, including implementing the L&D Strategy, corporate training, procurement and managing Learnhub (learning management system).
- Implement key diversity activities such as cultural learning and development programs,
- improving recruitment practices and key diversity employment strategies.

**Required Skills and Knowledge**
- Ability to think strategically and creatively and identify opportunities for innovation and business improvement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including being able to communicate with influence to cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders, peers and networks.
- Experience with supervising and mentoring a team, including the ability to confidently undertake all required people management processes
- Strong research and analysis skills and the ability to utilise business systems for data manipulation and reports.
- Be able to support and engage, be flexible and agile to meet immediate needs and future challenges within the section

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong collaboration, problem solving and communication skills with a passion for innovative practices, business improvement, and a focus on outcomes.

Ability to show initiative and good judgement and are willing to contribute to the strategic planning of work within the team.

You have a keen interest in workforce strategy and are curious and open to differing points of view and how ideas could be best implemented at an agency and branch level. You rapidly understand new information and see where information can assist in the ‘bigger picture’.

You will enjoy collaborating and building lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and your ability to understand the needs of the business and provide solutions efficiently is crucial to your success.

You will have exceptional understanding of the importance of gathering appropriate information and presentation of metrics through ‘data storytelling’ to influence outcomes.
