**About the Role**

This role focuses on conducting participatory research for the ARC Discovery Project, “Co-designing Innovations in Digital Storytelling with Older Adults”. Responsibilities include understanding the life experiences of older adults and facilitating their engagement with new technologies for storytelling. You'll be an integral part of a dynamic Human-Computer Interaction community at the University of Melbourne, collaborating on interdisciplinary projects, attending seminars, and potentially co-supervising student research in Information Technology.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Ensure research is conducted in accordance with the University’s ethics requirements,
- Participate in regular team meetings and communicate with team members and stakeholders about project progress and outcomes
- Present research findings to diverse audience groups, including at academic, industry, and public-facing events
- Contribute to and lead preparation of manuscripts for publication in leading HCI venues including conferences and journals;
- Liaise effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including older adults and industry partners.

**Who We Are Looking For**
You will possess a proven track record of innovative research showcased through publications in esteemed journals and conferences. Alongside independent research capabilities, strong communication skills and adept interpersonal abilities are essential for engaging with diverse stakeholders effectively.

You will also have:

- A PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, social gerontology, or a closely related discipline.
