Our Partnerships and Communications team within Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) are currently seeking a Community Engagement Manager to join the team on a permanent basis.

Working closely with LAHC’s Delivery, Media and Communications teams, the Community Engagement Manager leads the development, implementation and evaluation of community engagement approaches with a focus on a high-profile development and social housing projects impacting Aboriginal people and communities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engagement specialist to provide strategic advice in the development of community engagement strategies and ensure Aboriginal voices are included to inform projects in accordance with the relevant legislation.

This is a customer centric focused role. You will be someone who has excellent stakeholder engagement skills and experience working with Aboriginal communities. You will be experienced in leading a team, comfortable providing advice on engagement methodologies and dealing with conflict resolution as well as working directly on the ground with the community. Ideally you will also have IAP2 qualifications.

**Essential Requirements**
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, policy or related discipline and/or relevant equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal people, government organisations and communities with the ability to communicate across cultures with an understanding of Aboriginal issues.
- Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel.
- Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and accepted in the community as such. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1997.

A key feature is the Communities Plus program, which is designed to fast-track the redevelopment of LAHC’s social housing portfolio in partnership with the private and community housing sector to deliver significant new and replacement social housing dwellings that are integrated with affordable private dwellings.
