Promote and complete the sale of equipment protector cases, safety approved flashlights, and related items for Pelican Products Pty Ltd. Play a primary role in the development and management of distributors and end users. Utilize manufacturer’s sales representatives at the distributor and end-user level in attaining growth within the assigned markets. Plans, organizes, and implements sales programs for the territory. Trains, develops, and mentors inside & outside sales representatives or distributors for the region. Coordinates budgets, forecasts, and reports.
- Develops and manages an annual sales business growth plan consistent with the goals of the Territory.
- Leads the effort in identifying key channel relationships. Creates, manages, and maintains these relationships / channels from concept through implementation and product delivery.
- Responsible for proactive development of new business opportunities within assigned territories.
- Develops and implements sales promotions and programs within channels to drive volume growth.
- Build productive and mutually beneficial relationships with Pelican’s distributors and dealers, developing and managing annual business plans to achieve agreed sales targets.
- Establish target end user account lists for each account within the assigned Territory.
- Maintain regular direct communication with accounts via timely visits to their locations; establish objectives for accounts and review actual achievements per objectives.
- Compile data on market pricing for competitive products and submit such data with recommendations for further action.
- Develop an expert level of product knowledge of Pelican’s range, including an intimate understanding of the wide range of end users and the ways in which products are used by all market verticals.
- Prepare regular reports to the National Sales Manager providing insights into market trends, competition, and sales forecasts.
- Manage customer information and sales activity via the company’s Salesforce CRM system and assist other departments in resolving customer issues as required.
- Identifies and directs priorities that assist in the development of programs, tools, and support requirements necessary to advance the selling effectiveness of the Sales organization.
- Drives product launches and releases for the region through sales channels and accounts for achievement of sales volume and margin goals assigned to the product.
- Evaluate existing market coverage and opportunity and develops plans for each channel to maximize product sales.
- Utilize Pipeline Management techniques, to review sales potential, manage lead flow, forecast sales and revenue, manage customer relationships, and evaluate issues affecting sales.
- Develops and manages an annual sales business growth plan consistent with the goals.
- In-depth knowledge of sales management techniques including merchandising, selling strategies, inventory management, and advertising. In-depth knowledge of Company products and Company sales strategies and approaches.
- Ability to travel on a regular (50%) basis.
- Possess highly developed written, persuasion, and verbal skills communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or 4 years’ relevant on-the-job experience.
- Ability to organize, plan, staff and direct the sales & marketing functions within the assigned market segments and ability to translate Company objectives into reality.
- Ability to produce accurate and thorough reports on sales activity, transactions, and market research.
- Have the ability to complete assignments within the time frame specified by superiors.
- Be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
- Remain flexible with work schedules and be available to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advance notice.Be proficient with Excel and Word, and CRM packages such as Salesforce.
