We are seeking an exceptional individual to join VCGS as the CEO to drive its ongoing success and position it for future growth. This is a rare opportunity to make a profound impact on the Australian healthcare landscape while fostering a culture of excellence, care, and innovation.

As the CEO, you'll play a pivotal role in maximizing revenue streams, establishing partnerships, and guiding high-quality service delivery, ensuring company remains at the forefront of cutting-edge genomics.

**_A bit about VCGS:_**

The commitment and dedication of our teams at VCGS allow us to play a pivotal role in patient care, research and development, driving translational research for impact and policy development in the field of genetics and genomics.

**_The Role:_** As the CEO, you will bring your strategic vision and commercial acumen to lead the organization while maintaining its purpose-led, not-for-profit culture. You'll excel in a complex environment with competing priorities, forging strong relationships with stakeholders.

**_Key Responsibilities:_**
- Drive operational effectiveness by leading the Executive team and ensuring seamless day-to-day business operations.
- Collaborate closely with the Medical Director and Laboratory Director to deliver coordinated genetic pathology services.
- Champion improvement projects that enhance customer value, service efficacy, and financial returns.
- Report performance to the Boards, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Oversee the budget, proactively maximizing revenue opportunities and managing financial sustainability.
- Contribute to the development of a strategic plan, implementing commercial strategies for growth and revenue optimization.
- Foster strong relationships with government bodies, stakeholders, and partners, ensuring continued success.
- Support staff development, nurture a positive culture, and identify growth opportunities to drive research translation.

**To succeed in this role, you will have**:

- MBA or equivalent business qualifications. Scientific or healthcare qualifications, preferably to a minimum of a bachelor's degree.
- Previous success in a commercial setting, preferably in a related industry.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that drive productivity and growth.
- Exceptional leadership skills within complex, multi-disciplinary teams, with a track record of leading through change.
- Experience in healthcare, pathology, genetic testing, academic research, or related fields.
- No CEO experience required.
