**Role**:
This position focuses on overall careers education at Copperfield College.

The Pathways Counsellor works as part of a college wide Pathways team which consists of:

- Two Pathways Leaders
- Two careers counsellors
- Structured Work Place and Work Experience assistant
- VET administration staff
- The Business Manager
- Campus Principal representatives from each campus
- Campus Leaders

**The Pathways Counsellor will:

- **

Work as part of the Pathways Team to develop and deliver comprehensive, data-driven pathways and transition structures and processes according to the time frames established by the Principal Team.
- ** Provide advice and information to students and families of a specified Year 9
- 12 cohort on**:

- course selection at senior high school level, particularly in relation to the establishment of effective pathways beyond school.
- Ensure every Year 12 student in their cohort has at least one 1:1 interview
- Ensure all students have a digital Individual Career Action Plan
- Participate in and contribute to the organisation of student/parent information sessions relating to year level information sessions, VTAC course counselling etc, including individual family/carer bookings for Year 10 course counselling.
- Collaborate with the pathways team to train school leaders to run Year 10 course counselling sessions.
- Work collaboratively with the pathways team to track student destinations for presentation to College Council and other relevant College forums.
- Contribute to the development and coordination of a Delahey Experience program for Years 9 and 10, including VET transition.
- Contribute to the running of Careers Expos, university visits etc.
- Participate in Pathways Strategic Plan meetings.
- Increase the number of Year 10 students undertaking Work Experience

Collaborate with other groups in the College and broader community_**

- Use a case management approach to provide for the career development needs of students with disabilities (liaising with the Inclusive Practices Leader) and CALD students in their cohort.
- Contribute to the College website and College and Campus newsletters
- Collaborate with the team to share the maintenance of links with Universities, TAFEs and other community organisations which help provide a diversity of pathways for our students.

- Maintain currency of professional knowledge and skills by attending careers network meetings and a number of relevant professional development activities as negotiated with the Pathways Leader and Business Manager
- Ensure that the school complies with relevant government regulations and policies.
- Comply with the Child Safe Standards
- Comply with OH&S requirements and maintain a safe and healthy workplace for self and others.

**Location Profile**:
Copperfield College is a multi-campus school situated in Melbourne¿s North-West. The College is comprised of two junior campuses (Years 7-10) in Kings Park and Sydenham and a senior campus (Years 11-12) at Delahey. We have a student population of approximately 1,900, with 180 (EFT) teaching staff, 70 (EFT) Education Support Staff and 7 Principal Class personnel**. **The SFOE for the College is 0.58, indicating a significant level of social disadvantage.
