Policy Officer, First Peoples Self-determination

The Policy Officer will support the Policy Coordination team in the First Peoples Self-Determination Division and provide high quality policy advice and project support in the delivery of Pupangarli Marnmarnepu ‘Owning our Future' Aboriginal Self-Determination Reform Strategy 2020-2025.
The Policy Officer will contribute to the delivery of group and departmental priorities, and to building an inclusive and high performing workforce that is customer focussed, collaborative, professional and engaged.
The position will suit a self-motivated and enthusiastic team player with strong policy development and implementation skills, a good understanding of self-determination reform, and robust project management who is keen to tackle complex problems. Key tasks will include policy writing, project management, business support and stakeholder engagement.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Aboriginal Communities and/or Traditional Owners is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of government policy is highly desirable.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
