**Role Details**: The Manager, Governance & Clinical Services is a role within DHS Disability Services and is accountable to the Director, Quality & Clinical Services for:

- Implementation and evaluation of a clinical governance framework with quality assurance within DHS Disability Services that will ensure the safe clinical practice, quality assurance, risk management, and continuous innovation and improvement of disability services practice.
- Contributing to the analysis, recommendation and development of departmental practice, polices and procedures to manage clinical risk, monitor safety of clinical services, and drive continuous improvement through best practice principles in alignment with all agency, legislative, regulatory and industry requirements.
- Developing a contemporary practice culture across DHS Disability Services and a best practice model that supports ultimate client inclusion and active participation in decision-making processes.
- Providing direction, support and leadership to the Governance & Clinical Services team including the evaluation and implementation of all activities that optimise workforce planning, team performance and professional development.
- Defining the strategic plan and driving the achievement of strategic goals, implementation and completion of projects, and the successful delivery of all strategic and performance outcomes for the Governance & Clinical Services team, and DHS Disability Services.
- Leading the provision of positive behaviour support service delivery and professional/clinical supervision, including the provision of leadership, expertise and support especially for high-risk clients, and advisory support for critical and complex case management issues.
- Lead the provision of allied health service delivery and professional/clinical supervision including the provision of leadership, expertise and support.
- Lead the coordination and delivery of nursing services and provide leadership support for non-clinical decision making.

Key outcomes and accountablities:
2. Initiate and lead the implementation and compliance with clinical governance frameworks for Allied Health Professional and nursing staff, risk management and continuous improvement.

3. Develop and lead the implementation of innovative approaches based on best possible professional practices, to support complex case management in relation to clients with identified risks.

4. Develop and enable quality services and practices by identifying barriers and formulating constructive, strategic solutions designed to achieve service excellence and positive outcomes for high-risk clients and their families.

5. Implementation and analysis of business unit metrics including defining key performance indicators and formulation of reporting requirements, for the purpose of evaluating outcomes, identification of trends, and the recommendation of corrective actions and reforms that enhance quality of service delivery.

6. Define and deliver people management plans, including all aspects of strategic workforce planning, performance management, workplace culture, employee and industrial relations, employee engagement, and both team and individual development planning, thereby ensuring a consistently high level of embedded safety culture, workplace relations, and standards or professional development that achieve all workforce development requirements.

7. Establish strategic and influential relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders including leading the assessment and advocating for client needs by representing the division and the department in a variety of networks and forums.

Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C).

Essential: An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification in Disability and Developmental Education, Occupational Therapy, Psychological, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology which entitles full registration or membership with the relevant board or association.
