**About Victorian Translational Research Institute**

The Victorian Translational Research Institute (VicTRI) is a centre of excellence for the benefit of the community as an Institute with leading capability in undertaking, promoting, and expanding translational research relating to human medicine and health, including the determinants of good health and health service delivery.

Situated on the Austin Health Precinct, VicTRI includes two academic partners, five medical research institutes and two health services.

**About the role**

The Associate Director of Research Platforms is responsible for implementing programs of work which provide a supportive environment for clinician researchers to receive training and education in a highly complex and regulated environment. This role also conducts stakeholder engagement and administers processes to streamline research oversight for continuous improvement and to prevent and detect areas of non-compliance.

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Post-graduate qualification in biomedical sciences with substantial relevant professional experience in clinical research training, education, compliance and regulations.
- Experience working in complex organisations such as the tertiary education sector, health services and medical research institutes.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and exercise sound judgement.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.
- Extensive demonstrated ability to influence, act independently, critically evaluate systems and processes and contribute new ideas and solutions at a strategic and operational level for the ongoing improvement of services and compliance.
- Demonstrated high level of organisational capability.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to liaise and work effectively with stakeholders in a large and complex organization, and with external advisors and regulators.
