This QLD Council is dedicated to providing excellent infrastructure and services to the community. They maintain and improve roads, water supply, and waste management, among other essential services. The council is committed to preserving and protecting the natural beauty and the environment while ensuring access to quality services.

**About the role**
This role reports to the Manager Assets and Projects and is in charge of overseeing Council facilities by conducting inspections, maintaining them, and executing capital and operational projects

**Duties**
- Conduct on-site inspections, ensuring all requirements are met
- Manage and oversee contractor and vendor relationships
- Work within the approved asset management plans
- Ensure a safe work environment by reporting any workplace risks
- Maintain open communication with supervisors
- Contribute to the improvement of Council operations by reporting problems and offering suggestions

**Skills & experience**
- Proven experience in facilities management or related field
- Knowledge and experience in project development
- Experience in engaging with and managing stakeholders including staff, contractors and community members
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrate a high level of numeracy, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to drive a both manual and automatic vehicles, on both sealed and unsealed roads, in isolated and remote locations
