Office Manager, Juries Victoria

The Juries Act 2000 (The Act) makes provision for the role, function and powers of the Juries Commissioner's Office (JCO). The purpose of the Act is to provide for the operation and administration of a system of trial by jury that equitably spreads the obligation of jury service amongst the community; makes juries more representative of the community; and permits the timely adoption of new technologies for the selection of persons for jury service.
JV is looking for someone with energy and imagination, preferably with experience in the courts' environment, who approaches his/her work with passion and a focus on service excellence.
The Office Manager leads a team of juries officers to proactively meet the demand for jury trials, working with judges and their staff to ensure the needs of courts and jurors are seamlessly met and maintained.
**The successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to**:
- Provide authoritative advice to the Juries Commissioner regarding the operations of the Victoria's jury system
- Manage relationships and demonstrate diplomacy when interacting with judges, chambers and registry staff, and jurors and their employers
- Anticipate and coordinate operational staffing needs in times of varied workloads
A sound understanding of the operations of the Victorian higher courts and jury system is desirable.
