The key purpose of this role is to lead and manage the Design and Technologies Faculty, which incorporates the Victorian Design and Technologies and Digital Technologies curriculum. This includes the development of an aligned, sequential and contemporary curriculum 7 to 12, which is implemented by a team of staff with expert knowledge of content and contemporary pedagogical and pastoral care approaches.

Within the context of a K-12 School, the Head of Design and Technologies will also play an important advisory role in relation to Technologies at K-6, but not be responsible for the direct curriculum planning and staff management. They will ensure that student learning is connected to the world through strategic partnerships with key cultural, business and community organisations. The Head of Design and Technologies will also directly inform the development of a STEAM Precinct in the Master Plan.

The successful applicant must:

- possess strong leadership, staff management and mentoring skills.
- be a qualified teacher and be able to demonstrate a suitable tertiary qualification in teaching and their methods.
- have demonstrated skill and interest in curriculum and assessment development in Technology.
- have a positive outlook, exceptional people skills and high emotional intelligence with demonstrated ability to build authentic, collaborative and productive relationships.
- be willing to be involved in all aspects of the School’s program.
- have high level communication skills.
- be able to work independently but also as part of a dynamic, creative and collaborative team.
- hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
- hold an Anaphylaxis Certificate or be willing to obtain this prior to commencement.
- have a current National Police Check or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement.
