**Your next career opportunity**

This role will incorporate supporting the day-to-day operations and maintenance of both the Facility and its related facility equipment and includes management of external contractors and, compliance requirements, security systems and services, creating the optimum environment for the Facility's scientific activities. his position reports directly to the Facility Engineering Manager.

**What we will trust you with**
- Ensure Facility is well presented and always maintained to protect the VCCRI's image and brand
- Ensure Facility and all building and equipment services are compliant to local and national standards
- Use and manage the Building Management System (BMS) to monitor for critical alarms
- Manage day to day repairs and maintenance of the Facility building and equipment, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, control systems
- Engage and oversee all contract staff involved in Facility building and equipment maintenance work, ensuring all service level agreements are met and that all contract staff follow the inhouse contactor management procedures
- Ensure boiler blowdowns are conducted according to agreed maintenance schedule
- Capable of engineering and improving existing services (from furniture fittings to A/C Duct work)
- Daily inspections of rooms in the building and identifying risks, investigating, and reducing the risk/ closing out the problem
- Ensure all work performed meets Australian standards, budget constraints, and is performed according to WHS standards

**Does this sound like you?**

**Technical Skills**:

- At least 2 years' experience in a facilities / property management role.
- Experience in managing contractors
- Knowledge of “Work Health and Safety Act 2011" and Code of Practice “Managing Electrical Risks in the Work Place 2017"
- Knowledge of mechanical services within a large building (eg. HVAC)
- Being able to problem solve

**Personal Skills**:

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Patience in dealing with staff, suppliers, and vendors
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
