The newly created Operations Coordinator role will focus on coordinating the day-to-day operations across the Society premises, including the coordination of donations and material aid. Reporting to the CEO, this role is critical in strengthening and implementing a range of organisational development and operational processes and systems.

For the team at the Caroline Chisholm Society (the Society) our mission is simple - delivering a range of pregnancy and family support services that respond to the needs of families. For over 50 years we have supported vulnerable children, women, and their families to achieve and maintain a safe and nurturing environment. We’re proud of our work and equally proud that it is inspired by the many achievements of Caroline Chisholm, a woman who supported and empowered many throughout her lifetime.
In providing support and assistance to pregnant women and parents with young children aged up to 5 years, we work with whole families to support secure attachments, optimise child outcomes through parenting interventions, and prevent and alleviate the impacts of poverty, homelessness, family violence and issues mental health have on parent and child wellbeing.
We’d love you to join our dedicated and diverse team of like-minded professionals and help us to continue this important work, and to honour Caroline by providing support to today’s mothers, babies, toddlers, and the family that surrounds them.
- About the role_
You will be working across the business with various teams, and an active onsite presence at our premises in Essendon and Caroline Springs in addition to, at times, delivering material aid to various locations and families in need.
This role’s key responsibilities include:
- operation coordination
- donations and stock management
- quality assurance
- volunteer and student coordination
- fundraising assistance
- About you_
We are passionate about the values and objectives of the Society and are looking for someone who shares them.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- proven experience managing or supervising people, ideally in a similar field and/or NFP
- excellent organisational, communication, database, time management, problem-solving, and administrative skills with great attention to detail
- ability to, at times, manage physical tasks including lifting car seats, cots, prams, and other bulky items on and off trolleys into vehicles
- a demonstrated ability to maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet the Society’s core values
- experience liaising with people and inventory management
- good understanding of work health and safety practices and basic first aid knowledge (a First Aid certification and an OH&S for Managers certification would be highly favourable)
- skills, knowledge, and interests in risk and accountability policy and procedures
