As the Allied Health Assistant, you will provide assistance and support to the Dietetic & Nutrition Department in the delivery of allied health services to patients of SALHN, under the supervision of an allied health professional. You will support the Dietetics & Nutrition team, Food Service, Nursing Staff and patients concerning the provision of special diets to patients and perform a range of duties in the dietetic foodservice area, related to patients on special diets to ensure they receive appropriate food items and nutritional supplements as required. This role involves continual liaison with Catering, providing assistance to Dietetic & Nutrition staff and communication with nursing staff and patients.

To be successful in this role, you will need experience working in a Dietetic & Nutrition Department or Food Service environment, a clear aptitude for working in a healthcare setting and with people from a variety of cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds, good written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to learn new skills and develop areas of practice under the guidance of supervising AHP and staff.
